Six months ago Liberty Collins was advancing in her career at a prosperous marketing firm and dreaming of a bright future. Now the only thing darker than her nightmares is reality.
In a socially, and economically, collapsed America, Liberty struggles to find the courage to endure, and the strength to protect herself. Her faith, constitution, and sanity are challenged as the lines that separate right from wrong grow increasingly blurry.
Connor Dunstan was a thriving personal injury attorney with a comfortable life and a deeply-buried past. As the country crumbles and provisions dissipate, the survival of Connor and his unforgiving niece, Ashley, rests on his ability to trust someone other than himself.

This book is one of the better dystopian books I have read. I had a bit of a problem with how immature Liberty is. It's hard to believe a character can have immediate compassion for one person and immediate distain for another. Some of the inane thoughts expressed by the author are a bit annoying. I also have a general problem believing that most of the people have died from a horrible disease and that there is SOOOOO little food left that they have to eat each other forcing our heroes to run for their lives. I am aware that food in the grocery store will disappear in days but there is lots in warehouses and I think those would keep most meat eaters alive for more than a few months. That being said, this book is worth the read if you just want a mushy immature read. Some times that is enough and it was for me on the day I read it. I don't think I would read a sequel.Product details

Rescuing Liberty Perseverance Book 1 edition by Amanda Washington Romance eBooks Reviews
Amanda Washington's Perseverance Series was and is EXCEPTIONAL!!!! I am not a doomsday believer, but I am not as naive to think that our country will always be powerful! Rescuing Liberty gives us an inside look at what we could possibly expect if our government ever abandons us! I was in absolute awe that she was able and willing to add in some religious aspects to this story as well!!! This series ( I have both ) is marked as not to delete on my kindle!!! I will read this book several more times!! Good job Amanda!!!!

A refreshing look at the end of the world as we know it writings. This book has brought a new perspective to the events that may happen if&when we face the change that is commonly.
Ms. Washington, you have done well, and I look forward to the next episode of this excellent series.
I just finished "Rescuing Liberty" and I enjoyed it very much. The Characters jumped right off the page and made themselves known - they were believable and real. The author really made me care about what happened to them, which is sometimes difficult to do. The story flowed well, and the dialog and writing style was excellent.
I usually don't like books written in first person, as this one was, and I did find it a bit confusing at times to have to stop and remember whether Liberty or Connor was speaking, but overall, it left me wanting to read the next books in the series to find out what happens to Liberty, Connor and Ashley. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a pleasurable read.
In addition to being a great story, strongly written, Rescuing Liberty is probably the least flawed book I've read in a long time. Either the author has a great editor or she republishes it every time someone finds a typo. Aside from that, its also a great story. I notice reading the reviews that people are making a lot of the Christian aspect of the book. I didn't find it all that overt. The action sequences felt authentic, the relationship scenes felt authentic, and the heroines faith felt authentic. If I had to guess, readers do see well written action and romance from time to time, but "Christian" books usually slap you in the face with an agenda. So it's a bit surprising when someone writes a novel who's hero simply has a relationship with God.
You know the old saying, "Never judge a book by it's cover"? Well this definitely one of those times that it is true. I looked at the cover and thought, "Yeah, I think I'll pass." But then as luck would have it, I ran out of reading material! How that even happened, I don't know but it did. So I thought, "Oh, alright..." I couldn't put it down! I read both books in the series and am anxiously waiting for the third. Amanda crafts her characters in such a way that you can't help but be drawn in by them. The plot line is anything but boring and predictable, with twists and turns when you least expect them. I have scared the dog many times with my gasps of, "NO!!" Amanda is now one of my favorite authors and this is now one of my favorite series
Most Christian books I come across tend to have characters that are too perfect. Storylines that are wrapped up too easily. Ones that are in-your-face preachy. NOT SO WITH RESCUING LIBERTY!!! This book was a little hard for me to get into at first.NOT because of the writing, but because of the realistic storyline. I had to switch my mind from light and fluffy to sweet, yet intense. This story takes during the apocalyptic times. (Forgive me if I am wrong about the time period) It starts out with Liberty trying to get to Canada. On the way she meets Connor, and his niece. Now most romances would have the hero and herione fall in love right there. Not with Rescuing Liberty. Liberty doesn't even like him right away. Like any real life story their relationship takes time to develop. AND what I like so much about this book is their relationship is not all wrapped up at the end. It is still developing. As for the suspense, Amanda Washington kept me on the edge of my seat guessing what was going to happen next. I absolutely loved what happened at the very end to Liberty. I mean the very very end after she was rescued. What happened? Well download the book and find out. I left out many details because I did not want to give the entire story away. Give this book a fair chance, you won't be sorry. I surely wasn't.
I stumbled on this book, and I enjoy dystopian fiction so it was worth checking out. Liberty is an interesting and well developed character, though she is frustrating in her stubbornness, not just to other characters but to me as a reader as well. Connor is an easier character for me to like and understand, a good man who has been hiding from his better self for sometime.
Overall I enjoyed this book but some of the themes do get drawn out to the point to becoming a little stale, I wish the author had streamlined it a bit and I think it would have been a better book. That being said I did like it, I read the sequel, and I will read book 3 when it comes out.
It is a quick and easy read, perfect for those times you need something entertaining and mindless.
This book is one of the better dystopian books I have read. I had a bit of a problem with how immature Liberty is. It's hard to believe a character can have immediate compassion for one person and immediate distain for another. Some of the inane thoughts expressed by the author are a bit annoying.
