K.F. Breene is at it again. I loved the Darkness series, and Jameson (Book #9) was no exception. While it was much shorter than the other books, it was entertaining and still had that steamy romance that Breene is known for (at least that I know her for!).I found that I didn't connect all that well with the new character, Addison, in this story. I think that is partly because she hasn't been a character up til now in this series and I don't know much about her, and the story wasn't long enough to really divulge much about her to forge a very strong connection. But I did find it entertaining to get to know Jameson, a familiar character, a little better.
I find Breene's writing to be entertaining and easy to read. Definitely one to follow.

This book was an unexpected surprise. A extra and final book to the Darkness series. A self-contained story yet part of the series. Jameson was always the snarling type who hated shifters due to his past. Right before Christmas, Sasha asks him to do a favor for the shifters. To check out their surveillance to their compound. He meets the new Beta, Addison or Addy and the two follow some leads, and realized they get along.
Got some action and adventure as well as some loving happening. And let's not forget about the holiday gathering.
Well written and very entertaining story with a few twists that's totally enjoyable to read.
When we Darkness fans, got Charles, I thought that was it. I was silently hopping for more, because Into the Darkness was my firs of K.f.Breene. But then there was a word that she is preparing Jameson, and I was like O YESS.
Now I have all my favorite characters of this series in a books. He was the last one, and I was really curious what will his story be like. And It was absolutely worth reading. It is short but it is Jameson story. He was always short with words in the previous books, he is a great worrior and this book suits him reallj well. It is simpley him.
Well obviously this is the end of the series but, I still have my hopes for Tim's book.
Ok so this was a fast moving book but it was perfect. Sometimes you just have to go with the flow and not fight anymore. Jameson and Addison had that chemistry that could not be denied. I could not stop reading this book until it was done. They were such strong willed characters. Yet he calmed her inner rogue shifter and she made him see what's possible if he let go of past hatred and resentment. I love these two together. They make all the other characters shake their heads and that was an awesome moment. Beta loves Beta.
The Darkness series continues to entertain. Jameson -- tough, taciturn, walled-off Jameson -- focuses on finding intruders at the shifter compound and finds a tough, female lioness ready to take him on. And off to the races they go. All the usual suspects entertain -- Boss, Sasha, Charles, Anne, Jonas -- keeping perfect continuity with the series' plots. Some suspense and a HEA round the story nicely for a quick catch-up with the series' characters. Oh yes, a nice surprise when I understood "Charles" was the last book in the series. Thank you, Ms. Breene.
I love the series Darkness. I was so looking forward to this book. The personality of Jameson you glean from the other books was nothing like the sap in this story. I know it was a novella, but still? The main characters should be important enough to get a feel for who they are. The main lady is the new shape shifter beta, but does not really fight in the book, and is rather unimpressive.
The story stole too much from the other books. It was like watching those TV series where they don't know what to write so just put a bunch of clips together with a lame story.
It was really bad. The Only reason why I finished it... and kept the book was because of the other books. So very disappointed.
I truly love the Darkness series and I have from the first book. The characters are so well crafted that, even in a book this short, you get sucked in and don't breathe until the end comes about. Then you wish there was more to read so you can stay with the characters that little bit longer. And I haven't exactly read the books since shortly after book 8, Charles' and Anne's story, came out and I was still able to pick up the thread of what had come before without feeling like I had to go back and reread everything. The characters still felt so familiar, like coming home, and it was great. Although now I think I will reread a couple of the other books just to reimmerse myself in the storyline and interact with the characters that little bit longer. That's how good her writing is!
The Darkness series is one of my favorites and I was so happy when I found out we would be getting Jameson. I love the sexy broody alphas that K.F. Breene writes so well. It is a novella so it was a quick read but I loved it. It was great to get glimpses of the Vamps, shifters and feisty humans I have come to enjoy and I will definitely be starting the entire series over and will try take my time reading it again. This series has action, sex, laugh out loud moments, and a perfect mix of supernatural characters.
It is a fantastic read that I highly recommend. Just READ THIS SERIES!!!
