A cocky, green pilot flies an old Cessna 150 across the United States in 1994. The "Kid" and his gonzo passenger, Doc, take to the skies in an unforgettable misadventure. From Scottsdale Airport, the company "Canary" takes off and attempts to cross the "hump" on its passage eastward.

The story basically covers a ferry trip to retrieve a Cessna 150 and fly it from Scottsdale to Alabama. It's a nice, quick read, worth the price. No great insights to be found, just a pleasant tale about a simple airplane well past it's prime.Having experienced the ultra slow climb rate of a loaded 150 in high density altitude conditions I could relate to the tale of skimming the shingles in Wilcox, AZ while trying to establish a decent climb. Likewise, trying to keep up with a semi on I-10 sounds like something a 150 would do. All in all, this work is a great piece oh hangar flying and the author had me right there with him, fighting to keep a little 150 flying in the heat of the southwest.
A fun read.

On Duct Tape and a Prayer eBook Jack Alexander Reviews
I enjoyed this quick read to get my aviation fix when I can't be flying. The only thing I didn't like was how he talked about running from the FAA in his description ion and that part of the story was only a paragraph or two at best. Overall worth a cup of coffee and a quick read.
Enjoyable short story and a nice adventure. Hopefully the writer is out somewhere being a gypsy now. Cooking up another book.
This book is worth the $1 I paid. It is entertaining and short. You got to get past the incorrect pilot verbiage and just take the book for what it is…. A fun essay on a trip that most plane owners have experienced picking up their first airplane.
Very funny book loved it
being a new pilot I really enjoyed the adventure of flying across the country in a small plane. the book was a fun read and I would recommend it, especially to pilots.
Cool little book about a C-150and a low time pilot! Now I’m going to hug my C150
I like this little pilot travelogue. The reader is taken along for the "Kid"'s PPL check ride and soon after wards retrieving his first aircraft for ferrying home. An adventure of a brash young newly certified pilot, full of youthful arrogance and his good friend as he learns the peculiarities of flying his newly beloved "Canary" from its previous home in the American southwest to his home in the southeast. I read this book -formatted so I do not know it's presentation in standard book form. A light-hearted, fun read I did not get caught up in how much was truth true, how much sorta true. A good read that sustained a smile on my face from the very beginning. On , 1 buck. A buck for a sustained smile; not bad.
